3lbs of tissue can influence our Daily thoughts
There are many things we can do to make our day Better. Workout, Yoga, Pilates, take a walk, breath, meditate etc. There is no doubt the positive impact all the above will have to start your day.
But what if we struggle to focus? What if we know what we should be doing to make us feel better, but we are stuck in our own head. Life is busy and stressful. It’s exhausting just to embrace the day. We have no time; we are barely keeping up with the demands of our life and we are frustrated and often angry.
Did you know the human brain weighs approximately 3 lbs, is about the size of two clenched fists and is possibly the heaviest weight you will carry in your lifetime if you allow it to be!
It’s fascinating to think that 3lbs of tissue can influence our daily thoughts, control our mood, actions, feelings, and interactions not only with ourselves but with our family, friends, and colleagues.
That little voice in our heads that’s nattering away is real. It’s the voice only you can hear. It natters aaaalllllll the time. We are constantly talking to ourselves. The question how?
When we open our eyes in the morning our first thought will make the difference to how we start our day.
Are you the person that beats yourself up the moment you open your eyes? I shouldn’t have said that. I shouldn’t have eaten that last night. I should have gone to the gym yesterday.
“Should” is past tense. “Have To” is equally as soul destroying! Both these words should be ejected from your conversation because they represent lack of power over your own self.
Every thought we have influences how we think, act, move and interact with ourselves and with everybody we meet throughout our day.
The first thought you have when you open your eyes in the morning is you deciding how your day is going to be. You have a choice to make at that moment. You have the power to change your day. It’s a decision that only you can make.
So, I’m sure we can agree that our thoughts are powerful.
Out of 1440 minutes in a day find 15 minutes and check in with yourself. How can you have a positive conversation with your inner self if you have lost touch with who that person is. Start investing in your “3” Pounds.
So, for a better day. Here is what I say…!
Don’t let anybody steal your peace of mind
Celebrate every day the uniqueness that is you.
Forgive yourself for being human. Nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes.
To Quote Scarlet O Hara’s last line in the very iconic movie “Gone With the wind”
“I’ll go home, and I’ll think of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day!”
Now there’s a woman who has a very positive attitude…!!!
